Privacy policy

How Mybizna handles the details of the people who sell on it and the people who buy from them. Updated 29 October 2026.

Who we are

Mybizna is run by Safisend Limited, a company in Nairobi, Kenya. Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019 applies to what we do with personal data. Write to us at support@safisend.com; you can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

If you sell on Mybizna

• Your account: your name, email address, phone number, and a password or a Google or Apple sign-in.
• Your business: its name, address, contact numbers, products, photos and prices, and anything you write on it.
• Verification: the kind of ID you showed, the name on it, its last four digits and a one-way fingerprint of its number (so we can spot one ID behind several businesses). The document itself is kept only until a person has reviewed it, then deleted.
• Payouts: the M-Pesa number or bank account your money goes to, held by Paystack, with how its holder’s name was checked: by Paystack, or by us.
• Money: every order, payment, payout, invoice and receipt.
• Use of the app and dashboard: which screens you open and tap, your device type, and a push token if you turn notifications on, so we can see what works and fix what does not.

If you buy from a business on Mybizna

• Your order: your name, phone number, delivery address, an email address if you give one, what you ordered and, if the rider or the shop takes one at the door, a photo of the hand-over, which we keep for 90 days.
• Your payment: handled by Paystack. We see the receipt reference and the amount, never a card number.
• Your visit: on a business’s pages we count visits and what was viewed against a random visitor id, so the seller can see what sells. No advertising cookies.
• A business’s email list: only if you join it. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.
• WhatsApp: a message to a seller goes to WhatsApp, not through us.

What it is for

• Running the business: taking orders, texting and emailing about them, paying sellers.
• Checking sellers, so buyers know who they are dealing with, and keeping fraud out.
• Making the product better, from how it is used.
• Meeting the law on tax and payment records.

Who handles it for us

These companies process data on our behalf, each for one job. We never sell personal data and run no advertising networks.

Paystack

Takes M-Pesa and card payments, verifies payout accounts and sends payouts. Card numbers never reach us.

Cloudinary

Stores product photos, business logos and, until they are reviewed, verification documents.

OpenAI (US)

Writes drafts and checks photos when a seller asks, answers in the WhatsApp assistant, and checks a listing’s photo and words before it shows on the marketplace.

Africa’s Talking

Sends the text messages: sign-in codes and order updates.

Hostinger

Sends the emails: order alerts, receipts, invoices and a business’s offers to its list.

Google and Apple

Sign-in, when a seller chooses to sign in with them.

Cloudflare

Serves businesses on their own domains.

Railway

Hosts the service.

A seller sees the details of the people who order from their business, and only theirs.

How long we keep it

• Your account and business: for as long as the account is open.
• Orders, payments, payouts, invoices and receipts: for as long as the law on tax and payment records requires, then they go. Buyers keep their receipts.
• Delivery addresses, notes, buyer emails and texts: one year after a business closes.
• Verification documents: until a person has reviewed them.
• Sign-in codes and sessions: minutes to days.

Deleting your account

In the app or the dashboard, open Settings › Sign-in › Delete account. Your business closes, your details are erased, and the money records stay with your details removed from them. What goes and what stays. You can also email us from the account’s address.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or erase what we hold about you, or object to a use of it. A buyer can ask the business, or us. A record the law requires us to keep stays for that period. Write to support@safisend.com.

Keeping it safe

Everything travels over HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed. Card details are held by Paystack, never by us; we keep your payout account’s number and name, and Paystack pays it. A change to how your account signs in needs proof that it is you.

Mybizna is for sellers aged 18 and over.

When this policy changes, the new version appears here with its date.
